2018 Deaf Games Update

Be Proactive - Not Reactive

With not long to go until the Australian Deaf Games in 2018 hit Albury, businesses are encouraged to get behind the games and start to prepare for the 1,000 plus athletes, administrators and volunteers who will descend on the cities in January. The games are expected to generate up to $3 million in economic benefit for the border.

For eateries, motels, bars, pubs and clubs it's a great idea to start to think about how Albury's hospitality can be focused on service for the deaf and hearing impaired customers. Similarly, retailers can expect a welcome boost to sales with the influx of visitors to the region.

It is important that businesses have plans in place to deliver great service and ensure that the Deaf Games participants experience our warm welcome and enjoy a fantastic stay on the border.

Community workshops will be conducted during 2017 where tips and information will be available for business. More information is available from AlburyCity.
