The National Disability Insurance Scheme will launch in the Albury/Wodonga region on May 12th with a community market hosted by Rotary Albury North from 3:00pm in QEII Square. The community event will also feature performances by and Indigenous dance troupe as well as the Albury City Band.
The event aims to create an inclusive, festive event where the whole community can gather together to celebrate the launch of the program and learn more about the services that will be provided by the National Disability Insurance Scheme in the region. The scheme aims to do away with the current crisis model to reduce wait times that are currently being experienced. The scheme also aims to help over 2600 people in the region and provide them with individual support.
To celebrate the launch there will also be hot air balloon flights that will depart from the Tigers Football Ground on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday mornings. Expressions of interest are also being sought to provide $500 sponsorship to people with a disability to fly in either an Easy Access Balloon or one of three other balloons.
